Mid-Autumn Festival DIY Mooncakes

Activity Objective: The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday, celebrated with customs such as moon-gazing and eating mooncakes. Participants will experiment with using molds to imprint patterns and designs onto dough, recreating the decorative motifs of mooncakes.
Event Time: September 18, 2021, 11:30 AM–12:30 PM
Event Location: Conference Room on the Second Floor of the Office Building
Number of participants: 20, divided into 4 groups (voluntary registration)
Activity preparation: mooncake skin mix, mooncake fillings, cooked glutinous rice flour, mooncake molds, gloves, packaging bags, disposable tablecloths, electronic scale, spatula, silicone mat, bowls, and more.
Event expenses: 2 packs of snow skin mooncake mix = 65 yuan, 3 types of mooncake fillings × 3 = 450 yuan, 2 packs of cooked cake flour = 20 yuan, 4 mooncake molds = 40 yuan, 2 pairs of gloves = 36 yuan, packaging bags = 55 yuan, and disposable tablecloths = 20 yuan, for a total of 686 yuan.
Mooncake-making method:
1. Mix the snow skin flour with boiling water in a 1:1 ratio, stirring until smooth and free of lumps.
2. Then, knead it by hand until smooth and soft, wrap it in plastic wrap, and set aside.
3. Divide the filling into 25g portions and roll each into a ball; set aside.
4. Divide the snow‑skin dough into 25‑gram portions, roll each into a ball, then flatten it. Add your favorite fruit or vegetable powders to color the dough, and mix them thoroughly into the dough.
5. Roll the snow‑skin dough into a circle, enclose the kneaded filling, and seal the opening by pinching it shut with the seam facing down.
6. Coat the filled snow‑skin mooncakes with an appropriate amount of toasted glutinous rice flour to prevent sticking, then place them in a mooncake mold and press into shape.

Recently, the industry standard “FZ/T 64084-2021—Electronic Printing Screen Mesh,” spearheaded by Weike Screen Mesh and jointly drafted with the China Industrial Textiles Association and Zhejiang Textile & Fashion Vocational Technical College, has been officially approved and promulgated. After several years of effort, the work to draft and submit this industry standard has now been brought to a successful conclusion.
